Step 2: Set up an authorized KMS host
An organization’s licensing administrator configures the KMS host using the appropriate Microsoft Office Volume License Pack and host key. The host must run on a supported system, be reachable by its volume-licensed Office clients, and permit the relevant KMS traffic (typically TCP port 1688).
